Mek's first Portal map, a large one

Large map of intermediate difficulty. My first one for Portal.
It's a big advantage to have completed the original game with
advanced versions of the original maps.
Have fun with it, and remember, no cheating!

Well, the link was invalid so I corrected it and it worked for me. Works now as well, looks like you have corrected whatever was the issue

btw. I don't know if this could be some sort of issue, but the old screenshot for the spotlight was displayed, only after pressing ctrl+F5 the correct picture appeared. Has something to do with browser cache...

Yeah that's browser cache, not much I can do there.

One more question about the community spotlight, though... will the map appear in the download category for spotlight maps after a new spotlight map is picked or you have to do it manually (and not forget about it)?

Nice map! I'm enjoying it. The puzzles are pretty hard though.

I'm stuck in the area where there's an energy ball and you're supposed to rotate two surfaces 90 degrees... I can't get both cubes up onto the dark gray platform so they can both be on those buttons... or maybe I need to be on one of the buttons...

OK, got past that one. Now I'm in the next chamber where you're supposed to "fling" but you're blocked by curtains.... bleah. Hints??

Try this excellent walkthrough; some of the solutions were unintended but work pretty well

Got to the end. Some pretty tough puzzles in there! I sometimes wondered if the solutions I found were unintended.

Do you have a version that'll appear in bonus maps? I don't want to mess with the main campaign, as it could cause errors throughout the testing process.

Uh, what? You should just be able to "map somemapname.bsp" in the console.

But I agree, the map should have a proper BMS... When did people stop doing that?

It is a BMZ file which will install to the bonus maps folder automatically after loading it in Portal. I don't understand what you are talking about

Hey I just beat this map. Very nicely put together. Though one thing stuck out and I'd probably have to replay it to get the exact location, but I remember when I was Flinging myself in part of the map I picture of a guy's face (like a picture from a point/shoot camera) popped up for less than half a second. Scared the hell out of me, but I'll get back to you on its location.

Really? That must have been some sort of glitch; I haven't put anything like that in there
(but there is a photo you are probably talking about, in some other part of the map)

I don't know. I know I hit a wall and this guy's face showed up just enough to scare me and went away. Kinda in class right now so I can't load up the map...
