The box art for Portal 2 for the UK release of the game has been sent out by the publishers. Here it is:

Pretty sick. But the OS labels are way to big.

I honestly thought it was a photochop at first, I didn't realize they used the old style Mac logo on games. I'm also surprised they have the coop bots on the cover, but I read the publisher wants to play up the coop aspect.

It's the UK box art though so I couldn't care less what it looks like tbh.

As long as it isn't the US box art, I'm okay with it. It doesn't look horrible, just not what I would expect from a valve game. I hope they improve it for the US release.

Really who buys boxed games anymore. Steam and digital distribution in general are amazing.

We were debating this image a while back at mAL, we all thought it was fake at first. Quite honestly, I very much dislike it. A few issues: First, yes, the labels at the bottom are far too large. And it still hurts inside to see a Mac icon on VALVe games. Second, there's actually a z-issue with the blue portal. I'ts overlapping one of the dark support-things. Third, you'd obviously see things through the portals. Duh. Way to confuse people who are playing the game for the first time, VALVe. And finally, the bots look less realistic than in the gameplay videos. The blue bot looks shopped in on top of the tube, and the orange bot looks awkward.

Here's hoping we Americans get better art. And--

Hey! I still have my boxed copy of Portal. Of course, I didn't have Steam yet, but still. I will treasure that flimsy plastic case for as long as I live.

Point taken and cheerfully accepted. I couldn't care less, it's more of a general hatred for Apple (with an exception to the iOS line).

If you don't like their products then don't use them, that's all that's really necessary tbh.

The OS icons make the box look small. I'm in Canada, so the box art will be different. Yes, they do sell VALVe games here. I got the orange box in stores here! The bots look odd, unlike in the game, and the portal placement is odd, too.

People with limited internet that wouldn't want to download larger games.

I have my boxed copy of The Orange Box and of Left 4 Dead 2.

I don't like how much their focusing on the co-op bots, couldn't they just have a broken down GLaDOS chamber with a companion cube and a portal?

They have been focusing way too much on advertising the multi-player feature.

But it's probably just because they want to keep singleplayer secret.
If the multi-player gamemode costs singleplayer quality I'm gonna be really mad

I don't like it very much. In my opinion, it makes it look as though the Coop is more important than the single player. Well whatever I just hope the US box art is better, since I usually buy games for both Xbox and PC.

I dont really care because I will buy it from steam, but the some people here got it right, it can still be improved, like the portal over lapping the black tube structure. And I think it is giving the co-op bots too much credit, what about chell?

I think they should have gone for a cleaner style, I dunno, it is a hard call to make.

They said it would be 6 hours long plus co-op so I am guessing around 8 gb as well.

I'm pretty sure they said it would be "about twice as long" as the first game. You shouldn't make up a number like 6 hours.

And who knows or cares how big it will be really.
