How to make a custom sign?

Hey, guys!
So, I know I promised everyone a really cool maze map a WHILE ago...
But I kind of get distracted easily
Anyway...
I'm not going to use Portal 2 textures anymore. But does anyone know how to make custom signs? You know, the signs with the pictures of how to do the puzzle. But I want to make one that says something like "ENTER HERE ===>".
If anyone can help, let me know please!

Emmm, you mean just simple signs? Well, I use gimp and then vtfedit to export it. My guess is to look at the valve developer wikia, but if you have any more specific questions just ask me on steam

If you want signs that are like the signs Valve has, use the files in this zip
Otherwise, make somethin in GIMP or Paint.NET or something and import it with VTFedit
If you don't want to mess with all that, I would just use the arrow signage that comes with portal.
