Hammer isn't showing up materials correctly...
So I am using Source SDK hammer, and Hammer will show MOST of the textures,props,or models, as a pink and black checkerboard. But when I'm choosing a texture (in texture browser) they show up fine. In model viewer, its almost always pink and black. So people have been telling me that I am missing props,models,textures etc... but I have made sure that I have every single file. I even extracted from the portalcontent.gcf and replaced the files (didn't work). Others tell me that I need fixvtf... except that is now gone? All the links are invaild, and I've google for about an hour now. EVERYTHING shows up fine in portal when playing my map, it's just in hammer. So If any one has a fix for this, I would really appreciate it. Also if anyone has the fixvtf that would be nice to have, if you could upload it for me, and the rest of the World =)
first, make sure you are using Source Engine 2009. Second, go to tools -> options and make sure that in the white box, portal.fgd is present.
Still haven't figured out why it is doing this, but I have started making Portal 2 Maps, with the portal 2 collab textures, and those show up fine.
VTFEdit I still can't find and I'm becoming quite annoyed.
