I'm working on a coop map.
I just started using Hammer (the level editor) a few days ago, but I'm making progress. It's not as hard as I thought. The difficulty lies not in using the tools and building the levels, but in coming up with good puzzles. It's surprisingly challenging to create a puzzle that has (preferably only one) elegant solution. Often I realized, that there is a much easier solution to my level that doesn't even use half of the puzzle. The opposite is bad too. You don't want the player to find and try a much more difficult solution that requires extreme precision or timing, because that's just annoying. And coop levels are even more complex, because with 4 portals you have a lot of combinations to go through.
