How do I make my map look overgrown? Are there plant/vegetation entities I can add?

Try creating a prop_static/prop_dynamic and click browse on the modelname option. Looks for something witht he prefab 'nature'

Also there probably a few decals that are ivy looking. You could place them on walls too.

Is there a way to make them sway? This page mentions env_wind, but I placed it in my map and it doesn't seem to effect anything..

Have a nice day,

You also need to disable normals for the prop_static plants.

As far as I know the only way you can make a model look like it sway is if it has animations. If you really want vegetation to sway then you can always make ropes (to look like vines) and add an env_wind like you said.

If you really, really want vegetation to sway then try looking for an animated model or if you know how, make one yourself.

Someone told me that the vegetation only sways if you're render options are above a certain level. He didn't specify which, or what level, but you could try turning them up.

I experimented with this today and found that the vegetation only sways if the Shader Detail setting is set to "High" or "Very High." Even then, it only seems to occur with certain models - some vines may not sway no matter what. That was just my experience observing them in the default single-player campaign though; I didn't try anything with custom placement of the foliage props.
