Stairs made of Panels
Posted May 18, 2011
Hay, Im currently using models/anim_wp/room_transform/arm64x64_interior.mdl but the thing is, the animations are limited to 224,192,128,64,32. This is too wide a gap to make stairs you can jump up (stairs extend out of the floor when triggered, creating a 32-64-128-192 step to next room). Anyone can help me out, I dont know if there are any that have more specific animations.
I want to make something like this http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki ... panels.jpg

There are a couple things you could do:
-use the "props_livingwall/armliving64x64" model as its like the one you're using but has much more animations (I think you'll find the "makeramp" animations to your liking)
-Make the 3rd stair come out of a wall using the "90deg" animations
-Use a func_door to move the arm itself up a little

That seems to be a good idea, and would work perfectly but after a few hours of digging ive found that it seems to done by a models/anim_wp/telescope_arm/telescope_arm.mdl, but all the steps use one animation called up01, this is the arm moving the platform directly vertically. But there is only one animation, up01 and it seems each step stops at a different frame. Is this possible to do?

Sorry to bump but wondering about the last question
Are you able to stop an animation from completing, to stop it at certain frames?

The model used in the picture you posted is "models/anim_wp/circle_shield/circle_shield.mdl". That should have all the necessary animations.
