Portal 2 map creator - mod friendly!
HunterBrute, or "Dr. Awesome", just showed me stuff today with the map editor

It seems it's all text files. the entire map editor runs on a text file in the portal directory. so, it's fully moddable!
pretty cool stuff. multiple exits and large windows, here I come!

Yes, but there's a few issues. It's not ALL text files: how it's converted depends on the I/O and logic expected of the instances, and this conversion is hardcoded.
Another problem is any map saved using edits, will for some reason be reloaded with the originals.
Even if not I can still see the potential for puzzle scripting

I'm still waiting for the door to be added. I've been waiting for it since I got the beta.
I hear they're working on adding more items.

I heard they were adding more items months ago when I got in the beta.

Anyone figured out how to make 2 buttons open one door? I fiddled around for a while the other day and couldn't get it to work
Linking two buttons to the exit door should require both of them to be depressed in order for the door to be open.

I found the only way is to do an external logic system using panels and lasers. have one panel open one laser, breaking the beam, so the door opens. have additional panels further up/down the beam to add more buttons.
is VERY inefficient, but it works. one of my maps utilised it. it was very slow.

It was, but not anymore.
Not that they'll ever properly update it.
