For Old Times Sake
By: reepblue
Difficulty: Medium

A quick map of an idea I had I made for old times sake.

I used antiquated material, but I did not want to break the Portal 1 feel too much.

Enjoy!

This map was indeed a great throwback to Portal's haydays. I miss the custom maps for it so much.
Puzzles were fun, and it did stick to Portal's original feel. Don't want to say much more without spoiling. A 5/5 from me!

Great map, not too hard but not a cakewalk either. I really like the use of portal 2 touches in a portal 1 chamber, it really made the map feel special.

5/5 from me good sir!

Holy crap so many screenshots. I can totally tell what the map looks like without downloading it.

But seriously try to upload AT LEAST ONE screenshot that isn't blurred. :C

Better? Its a small map so any screenshot would kind of ruin it. Some people like me find solutions before they actually play the maps; just looking at the screenshots.

Nice map, like everybody else I liked the sort of Portal 2 vibe going on.

However, I can't figure out what I was supposed to use the sphere for. I put it in the main chamber and never touched it again.

I went back through again and couldn't find any immediate use for it. Either way, nice map; not too difficult but still a bit of a thinker.

What I did was use the ball to press the Super Button in the third room (where the ball is spawned), which turns off the fizzler and allows you to leave with the box.

I enjoyed the map a lot, didn't feel too clustered and respected the Portal design(maybe less for the third room but I think that was intended).

Also, the water in the third room can be crossed by swimming (intended?), making it easy to have a 8 portals Gold medal. Just don't fix it please! Lower the gold to 8-9 portals at best.

The puzzle was simple and not frustrating, made me enjoy Portal again.

4.5/5

Really great map, although there wasn't really any puzzle. The only time I had to think was when I didn't notice there was a room with a button in it that spawned an edgeless storage cube.

4/5 From me.

Extract the .7z file you downloaded to Portal's root folder. If you don't already have it, you'll need a program that can open compressed files first.
