If you bacon from Canada, then you've already been through this, but today we in the US of A are eating turkey because it is the Law and turkey is what we eat.

PoTUS is going to be pardoning a turkey at the white house because here in America we convict birds of crimes and then release them from their charges for fun.

I suppose the pilgrims were technically part of a British colony at that point, so the survival of the colony would be something to celebrate. Makes sense that you wouldn't celebrate it now though.

Kind of like Boxing Day, I guess; I'd never even heard of it until I read Harry Potter but it seems like it exists in the UK.
