Portal now runs on Linux, which means mods like Blue Portals do too. I checked out the binaries; any Source games you can do code mods on like HL2/episodic should be able to be compiled for Linux by anyone who knows what they're doing.

Further updates: Portal (at least on Linux; I haven't gone back to Windows yet) now uses .vpks instead of a gcf. Proceed to weep (or do something joy-related at the newfound loading vpk-related loading speed).

I suppose the question we're all asking is, can we play files from before the steamPipe in the new system?

You can play maps fine; content mods may require vpk'ing but so far I haven't seen that either. Just pop it in the /custom folder. Mods are a little different and I'm still figuring that out. You can try the beta yourself by right-clicking on the Portal entry in Steam, selecting properties, and turning on the beta (there is a field for a password that should be left blank).

Even more updates:

I got Blue Portals on the Steam Pipe version of Portal, so mods are all nice and figured out so long as you know your way around a vpk (which can be more complicated than some people think). There's also a new gameinfo.txt

Linux at the moment doesn't support mods at all. I'm trying to get in contact with somebody worthwhile in charge of something to get that fixed.

My Art IV exam grade. My and my friend said we were gonna do something "pop-art"esque, this is the closest I could get.

The background's pretty rad

And wheatmonger is also, but a little off-round?
