I'm going to go watch it with some friends tonight. I'll see if it's as good as everyone's saying or as bad as everyone's saying.
I thought that it was fantastic. Not perfect (most flaws I thought were due to the ending, and how [spoiler=]Kirk's death was essentially meaningless since they brought him back so quickly, and if you were paying attention the resurrection was entirely predictable[/spoiler]) but the rest of the film, i.e., the acting, the effects, and the dialogue, were great.
Anybody here from Ireland? I only ask because I'm taking a trip there this June.
