I got the LED eyes refixed into place, and a frame made out of ancient computer cable was sown into the hood, so that the middle didn't flop downwards.
Apparently, I was terrifying. and most of our visitors agreed! No runners this year, but at least four refused to come near the door. only one attempt to mess it up by lifting the hood. I closed the door before they did, but even so, I had two hoods on (the faceless mask is a smaller hood).
I would have had two "fist bumps", but I am in total character, so I simply stood, eying them menacingly. It often works, and they leave, getting creeped out. I'm inside the suit trying to stay in character while laughing so hard on the inside.
I was very happy with it, except for a continuing issue of my hood drooping too far due to the cable's weight, eating/drinking/seeing in a faceless mask (and putting it back on correctly) and the practicality of using the laptop with skeleton hands. For the most part, the effect wasn't lessened.
We also baked cakes. One batch for us, and the second, to hand out at the door. we were completely out of our entire second batch (48 cakes) within the first hour, and had to replace them with basic lollipops.
Halloween seemed shorter this year D:
