I've not been active here (well mAL I mean) for years so, hello again everyone

Anyway, I wanted to upload a map but I keep getting this error:

An error occurred uploading the file: 1. Please try again.
An error occurred somewhere, please try again.

I filled out all the forms if that helps.

Unfortunately it's been a while since I set up the database, and there's been some persistent issues with it that I'm not sure how to fix. To be honest, the whole thing was cobbled together when I was very new to web server programming, and I haven't had the occasion to redo any of it as of yet.

All I know is that these issues affect some percentage of the site's users and not others, and I'm not among those affected, so it's difficult for me to debug these issues without better architecture in place. Terribly sorry!

For now, see if you can manipulate some options on the forms and if it makes any difference.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but I've been thinking about how I could redo this site with about 2.5 years more experience under my belt. There may be some changes sooner or later. For now, if you find the site completely dysfunctional but still want to get your map up to the public, there's always TWP.

Just so we're clear (we being anyone else reading in), I'm not pulling another nickworks. It's just that fixing things would take a lot of investment which I don't really feel would be well spent at the moment. Sometime, perhaps soon, though.

Thanks for the detailed reply! Nice one on building the database yourself and no worries about the tricky issue. I'll try a few things out and see what happens I already have the map on TWP but remembered earlier about mAL.

Nickworks was the old admin of mAL. No disrespect, he was a great guy, but he kinda left us hanging as that site was dying, which is why mAI exists today.

Glad you got your map issues sorted out.

the main issues though are sorta condemning mAI a fair bit. We can't search addons, we have few due to the move, and all mAL addons are not up on there either. I wanted to recommend my tutor to try out some maps, but until the download system is fixed, next to all maps, aside from the top 5, are inaccessible. :c
