Confound these cubes, they drive me to drink!

I'm just beginning. Literally. Level one Hammer-user right here, and I can't even get the cubes to work.
Yes, the simple little weighted cubes. Unskinned, even.
Whenever I turn on multicore rendering, Portal 2 crashes as soon as I pick one up. When I turn all the settings down and multicore rendering off, I can pick it up and move it around, but after a few throws or I drop it a couple times, BAM, crash again.
What is going on?

Could you show us a screenshot of what you've done so far in hammer?

Follow up: I've had to reinstall Portal 2, and the Authoring tools, and my graphics driver, AND updated the BIOS. I've since made a simple cube-chaped room with one simple weighted cube. So far so good, knock on wood (+ Sacrifice a goat).

Are you using a prop_physics or a prop_weighted_cube?

Hey everyone. Sorry for the delay, I've done a lot of work since then. Had to get some stuff fixed actually, including the computer's fan.
SO! I'm happy to announce this also fixed the cube issue, and I am now at square one, instead of square -2. ![]()
