Underground Emancipation Grid Particles
Posted Jun 12, 2011
How do I get those little particles that are emitted from the old aperture emancipation grids that look like little sound waves?

Look in the "fizzler" materials, there are some that are clearly marked as "old".

They are REALLY hard to fit to wide emancipation grids for some reason...

maybe because all the "old" fizzlers are small? and as such they had no reason to worry about them adjusting to "wide" grids ?

The old Aperture grills are divided into three, a left part, middle part and right part with different texture scales on each. It isn't one giant "slab" like in the normal Fizzler.

Normal fizzlers also have left/right/center versions as well.

Any chance for me to know the specific scales or should I just play around?

The scale depends entirely on the, well, scale of what you are making. Most textures work pretty well at the default scale of 0.25 x 0.25 but you may need to adjust accordingly.

I feel like the left and right textures work if I use the "fit" button on only a 32 unit wide section on either side, with the middle being a full 64 unit middle texture... But that doesn't seem right.

I'm trying to make emancipation grids that are 128 high and 256 wide.

Oh, I didn't notice.
