A challenging coop map with some original puzzles that take strict cooperation. I tried to come up with some of my own ideas through out the map and i believe I've been successful for the most part. It is a good sized map with 4 puzzle rooms that will be sure to keep you guessing. Please enjoy my entry to the Summer Mapping Initiative.

Thank you.

I would appreciate feedback!

[COOP] Secleratus

Here are some spoilers if you are having trouble with any parts of the map.

First room-

Catching the cube
One player must place a portal on the top angled shoot and then below you on the lower platform. As you are flying, replace both portals after you cross the grid, One on the platform below the cube path, and the other on the angled shoot that you hit. At the same time, the other player needs to time the button so you can catch it. After the cube is caught, your partner either needs to switch you portals or make sure you don't fall back in to your own portal.

Exiting the room
||Once you have placed the cube, the animated ledge will open. Once on the ledge, you can open the panels with a button in the chute. 6 Panels will open, 2 below you, 2 on the ceiling and 2 islands below that.

Place your left click portal on the ceiling and your right click portal on the platforms below the animated ledge. Jumping from the ledge, fall through the portal below you. As you fall looking down, place your left click portal directly below you. This will shoot you up to the buttons on the ceiling. Press them and as you fall you will need to change your left click again to the panels that open on the wall across from the exit gate.||

2nd room-

This one will take some practice. You need to first place your portals on the only platforms lit up with spotlights. Use the gel ramp to get your momentum. As you are flying, you will see new platforms available for portals, you need to switch both. Just shoot for the only light you see! You both need to be flying together in order to complete the puzzle correctly.

3rd room-

aim the spheres with portals while you press the button, both need to land together

Final Room

Getting the cube
You need to catch the laser redirect cube in air by timing the catapult launch and then opening the animation ledge so you don't hit the emancipation grid.

Firing the gel
Place a portal underneath the laser beam and then one down in the pit. Hold the cube and jump in to it, then aim the laser at the laser catch.

Getting the Button
You need to direct the GEL to the walls using the angled panels next to the button pedastal. Once you've put gel on both walls, place portals accordingly. Time your jumps so that you hit each other in air, dropping you in to the button.

great map! I thoroughly enjoyed myself playing this wonderful map. It tested my my mind as well as my reflexes, and I have nothing but great things to say about it! Spoiler: in the map there is an easter egg that is directly related to GLaDOS' tits! see if you can spot it!

In the first chamber, my friend and I precisely timed our button presses and momentum pushes about three times, and we could never get the exit panels open. We'd both smash into it at the same time and fall into our deaths and then have to reset the momentum, align again and had it fail again. Maybe it was lag, but we just dropped the map eventually.

Maybe expand the box that recognizes when both players are coming through?

Hmm, ive had a number of people test it and it has worked fine, it is a little strict, make sure you are both doing the same action to fall in to your lower portal. if one jumps and one walks, it will be off.

Ill go make sure it is working correctly

Ok. ive just tested it and it is in working order. Partner and i got it first try.

Maybe you're methods are incorrect? if so here is a spoiler if you want to make sure you are doing it correctly.

Left click portal should be placed on the ceiling panels, right click portal should be below you where the animated ledge opens. Jump in to your bottom portal and change left click to directly below you as you fall. Hit the button as you fly up and then change your left click the the wall panel as you are falling. Doing this simultaneously should open the gate. Be sure you are hearing your ceiling button clicks at the same time, this will ensure you are together.

I, nor my testing partners, have the patience to fling ourselves in this manor. Too much twitch, not enough test.

If you want two people to be falling in tandem, add a light bridge.

complete pain in the ass in the first room if you dont have a good computer. due to my coop partner having about 5 fps more than me, it was really really hard to get through the first chamber.

the idea of two having to perform some skillful portal-use at the same time is sweet, the design / execution however, was not.

Sorry but a friend and me play hours this Map and can't complete second room. We had many trys where we together reach the room and nothing happend. We reach it together (sometimes on same time) and nothing happend or one of us is buggy back to start before he reach the faithplate. We love competiton (so we tried it very often) but this is too hard. If you have only 0.5 Seconds time difference the Walls reset to early on both sides and second player can't place Portals. Then both reach the endroom but nothing happend (perhaps to much time differnce, we don't know). Sorry, but competition is great but this is to hard (our opinion) and we don't think that is really funny when you play a map so long time and then you don't complete it.

This map is definitely not for me! I like thinking more than synchronized clicking.

Map based on parallel maneuvers: you and your partner will be doing the same flings, at the same time. Kind of like the late coop campaign where you have to clash into each other in mid air.

But these are way more difficult and people will just back from the harshest I'm afraid: not only you have to tune yourselves, but also repeat the preparation time at every failure. Especially cringeful the one with the barely spottable buttons on the ceiling. And the pitch black one was simply a bad idea.

These things are better taken in moderation, otherwise you know what happens:

You know the old 1971 Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, how the first 30 or 45 minutes of the movie is totally normal and is a happy Disney musical. And then they get on Willy Wonka's boat and there is this insane acid trip nightmare boat ride that comes out of fucking left field for no reason, and afterwards is never resolved or discussed ever again for the rest of the movie?

That's kind of how I feel about this section in your map.

Overall the map is tedious at best and completely broken at worst. We could not beat the last part of the puzzle in the first room, no matter how perfectly timed me and my partner both hit the final panels. I took one look at the second area and immediately skipped over it. Same with the third puzzle, I just simply did not have the patience to sit there and pray that I got lucky enough to get the spheres into the catchers.

The first room would be a pretty good puzzle in and of itself, if it worked properly. Unfortunately it doesn't.

As you can see, I wasn't alone in that experience. We weren't doing it wrong: we'd both hit the button, place a portal on our corresponding walls and fling through, but we would literally hit the end panels at the same time without them moving. We used the ingame clock to time it right, we used skype to time it right, but it doesn't matter: we'd still hit the panel at the same second and fall right into the acid.

Thus, we gave up on the map. It's a good idea, but as others have said, unfortunate execution.

Maybe I got a more up-to-date version. But when me and my co-op partner at the time took this, we had a good few practice runs (mis-aiming, mis-timing, general mess ups) but we eventually completed the entire thing legit. I thought that room was quite interest albiet it is very strict on timing.
