How can I record a co-op session?

Hi there. Me and my friend wanted to record our gameplay, though we don't know how. We use the microphones and talk through Steam. We've tried FRAPS, which doesn't work properly on the either side; it records either one's microphone, or game sounds - never both simultaneously. I've seen a lot of videos on YouTube where both sounds and microphone had been recorded and I wonder - how the heck did they do that?

If anybody had recorded such movies, I'd really appreciate the help.

Make sure you checked both "Record Windows sound" & "Record external input".

Huh, where are those options? I can't see them anywhere.

Under the video tab. Where you can also set the FPS.

I know what's the problem. I don't have them, because I work on WinXP! They are shown on Win7 only ( I guess ). Damn ... Any other ideas?

I doubt it's a platform difference. Do you have an old version of FRAPS?

The man just told you where to find the option to do what you want to do. The fact that your version doesn't have that option tells you the problem.

There's a slight difference: the fact I don't have these options tells me that I have a problem. I've downloaded the newest version of FRAPS from their website. I doubt that's the cause, but: could it be that I don't have FRAPS purchased? I'm using a pure-shareware version. I don't want to buy it since I don't know whether it'll work or not.

Why do you need fraps? I'm able to record the dem then record the avi in the engine.

It seems quite more appealing ... is it capable of recording the live audio chat ( via microphones ) or do we have to record it separately? I hope not.

The recorded and exported videos are top-notch! Unfortunately, it doesn't record the audio chat in my case, I don't know why Maybe I need to set some particular console variables, does anybody know which ones if that's the case?

I did. As far as I know, it's used to include the voice of a user who's recording the movie by looping it back. The problem is, neither of us ( me nor my friend ) is recorded.

Every demo I do is like from "scratch", but I'm pretty sure that's not what you meant ... ?
