ok, so i have several uber noob question, I tried to find the answers in the forums but none so far.

1) how do you play portal 2 co op without partner connected aka, how do u initiate a co op game without a partner (i know this is possible since i've already seen/heard several ppl do this, they complete the levels at the end using noclip i believe). I can "map somecoopmap" ... but it exits with "partner disconnected"

2)when trying to load a custom map, whenever I use "map somecoopmap" it disconnects partner but when I use "changelevel somecoopmap" it says :
"Can't changelevel, not running server"

3) i was playing co op with some random, this person set sv_cheats to 1 .... i couldnt set it back to 0, what gives? ... it's a coop game ... shouldnt both partners have a say in this? hehe

4) when sv_cheats is enabled there's several things you can do, like placing portals everywhere, shooting stuff (lol), shooting bobbles of gels ... how to i do these things?

It's called Google. You may have heard of it. This is what resulted in a one 300th of a second search.

right.... yes, fortunately or unfortunately i have heard of such term, but google is also flawed and so when certain things are worded differently they yield different results, for example google "how to initiate portal 2 co op game without partner" which to humans, it means the same thing as "testing portal2 co op maps alone" .... but as you see, it gives different results. Should I have worded my query better or alternatively? .. Yeah, sure... but then again, that's what tags are used for.

Now this is going to sound rude, but trust me its not meant to be. When using google or any search thingy, if you don't get the results you are looking for try different search terms, don't just give up right away. Anyway I am glad you found what you are looking for Happy Testing.

PS. Don't double post, or you will invoke the wrath of an angry god.

1) Type this for single-player coop: "ss_map mapnamehere"
Type inforceuser 0 or 1 to change characters
2) To play custom maps in multiplayer, the person playing Atlas should type: "changelevel mapnamehere"

Hope this helps!

Just as a quick explanation, the reason the person playing as Atlas has to change the level is because the person playing as Atlas is the one whose computer is functioning as the game server. Therefore, they have the highest permissions when it comes to server variables and such.

Winston's right. The person playing as Altas is hosting the game. Too bad there aren't any goofy modified servers to connect to. Aw well, maybe Valve might change it.

maps in coop needs to be mp_coop_namehereofthemap. Later, for test it use the command ss_map, for example: ss_map mp_coop_start, and later to change atlas to p-body or reverse, use in_forceuser 0 and 1.
