[idea] new story that begins after the portal 2 ending
Portal 2: The Awakening
hello,my name is Damien.
i have been making some maps for a while and i have some ideas for portal 2!
its not a map,but a new game dlc IDEA for portal 2 and i call it: Portal 2: The Awakening
heres some info about it:
the whole story starts with the coop ending and glados transports the humans to the modern aperture.
glados releases the testsubjects so they can test.
a man called (no name yet,but lets call him wayne) has also been in stasis like these testsubjects,but he wasnt in the vault.
wayne wakes up right after all the test subjects woke up and wayne starts to go around in a small room.
wayne was one of the scientists that worked on a computer like glados,but he was sent to stasis before they begun on making glados.
wayne is in the old aperture and has no idea about what glados is and what year it is.
wayne finds a crowbar (hehe) and starts to go around in the old aperture.
waynne goes trough some non portal testchambers.
wayne is in test shaft 4 and goes over to test shaft 5 after finding the prototype portalgun and the prototype of the paintgun.
more things is cooming!
Ending:
wayne hacks glados and makes glados more like caroline and caroline saves all testsubjects by letting them out of aperture.
cave johnson gets a "glados body" and meets caroline(glados). wayne runs up and tries to find chell.
wayne finds here and tell here about the news. cave and caroline begins to rebuild the old aperture(no human testing) and starts do make new things that people needs together with some of the testsubjects(scientists) and thay let robots do the tests in the testchambers( coop missions)
Special things(puzzles,weapons and more) :
prototype portalgun
prototype paintgun
paint bottles
portalgun battery( for a chargbed shot that does damage to enemies)
crowbar(blue instead of red)
sticky gel( many people on the forum wants this)
new playermodel and new models for the testsubjects(its always fun to see other testsubjects when you are backstage)
mantismen(hehe)
enemies(robots?)
cave johnson AI (guides you trough the game)
usb pin (for hacking)
a weapon?(for killing enemies)
Coop:
no ideas for this yet,but it will be something with the ending to do.

However, dont view this as an attack on you or the project; Om simply trying to help you make this a little more refined, and to think it through a bit; if you manage to pull this off without it being completely unPortalesque, I'll be impressed, as this could work, somehow. I just think that crowbars, enemies, new gameplay mechanics that AREN'T puzzle elements (e.g., hacking) are better suited to other games. Still though... Good luck, and enjoy working on this anyway!
remember! portal 2 was actualy meant to be a game with out the portagun.
this is a portal twist.
wayne knows chell because glados told him about her.
use your fantasy in the cave part because nothing in the game said that he didnt get uploaded to a computer.you can make your own story between the lines
edit: the whole thing starts with chambers and ends with some kind of boss battle(glados may have some kind of turrets or robots that can defend her)
we may need a weapon in the boss battle.
the crowbar is for opening locked doors or knocking down turrets and other things.
edit nr 2: i got a idea! maby wayne could be the one that warked with caves ai thing and maby wayne has a harddisc that contains caves memories and the rest of him.
wayne worked with cave and wayne may know chell because she was caves daugher(i think she was)
She sad, that soon there will be a DLC. To some other question by someone if the humans in the end of the Coop campaign will play a role in the DLC she said "Lets see" in a voice I think approving this will be part of the DLC.
Idea sounds extremely speculative towards the capabilities and extent of mods/custom levels, like something a person with no experience in mapmaking (e.g. me) would come up with.
