Not really I am using it for a way to make it a lot easier transport.
I am using a vent area for a portal and I got to make it so it connents with the chammber I have way at the other part of the map

World portals are fine, for instance, if you can't get two parts of your map to fit together right/don't want to build your whole map around one piece, you can connect things with a world portal.
