Hello everyone. I put a sound scape right after the first door with the following settings
Name - blank
Entity scripts - blank
Script think function - blank
Parent - blank
Start Disabled - blank
Radius - -1
Soundscape - Portal.song11 (no quotes)
Sound Position 0-7 - blank

And Its not working !!! I took the soundscape name from game_sounds_music.txt inside the scripts folder. I want to put a music in the background and its just not working. Please help me.

Well, for one thing, I don't think that's a Portal 2 soundscape; it's a Portal one. Secondly, you don't need soundscapes for music; just create an ambient_generic and search for 'music' in the resources window. You'll find something, I'm sure.

Of course, assuming you are actually mapping for Portal One.... I don't know, sorry.

No that is a soundscape from portal 2. Im mapping in Portal 2. Search in the file I posted in my initial post. Its so damn fustrating.
I dont want to use ambient generic because Im not suppose to do it. I know for sure that for this kind of situations I should use env_soundscape.

Just because it's in the files doesn't mean it can be used; the Portal One soundscapes are still there in the text, but not functioning. Also, it's perfectly fine to use ambient_generics; that's what all the official Valve campaign maps do.

I'll be honest,Rubrica right, you don't use sound scapes for music as they don't support playback of .MP3...Use ambient_generic as he said also .MP3 can't be playbacked with hammer so test it ingame before you RAGE...
