[Coop] Flo´s 1. Coop-Map

This is a Portal 2 Map for 2 Player, it contains the use of Ligthbridges, Laser, Bounchegel, speed gel, and of course buttons and door. Its my first map
this download version

please give feedback, what i can make better in my next map. thanks, Flo2912

Rough, broken chamber with no functioning exit door and particularly listlessly realized dispensers. All puzzles but one can be soloed; the lightbridge can be skipped; some more signs would help too.

what do you mean with broken chamber and no functioning exit door? all doors can open and close by the bouttons at begin, i have test the map 1 time alone in spliscreen and 2-3 times together with chikorita, and i soon will upload the video, you can see how ALL puzzel can solved

to signs: i tried to put the following sings on the walls: Laser-cather, laser-cube, speed-gel, bouch-gel, person stand on button, cube fall down, turret behind lightbride, tuurent burn, turrent shoot, and tracktorbeam, but the most if them doesn?t work, and was only showed as black or white squares, so i removed All. (If you can tell me, how i get work them, i will update the map )

We tried it in splitscreen, it was the very last door before the elevators. Also, often portals appeared as colored rings with the wall in the midst.

the door: we played it a few minutes ago again, where is the Problem? (You see it in the Video)
the portals: don?t know what i can make better, a portal-wall is a portal-wall, or? i havent see this promblem...

I'm not entirely sure here, but I get the feeling that you thought xdiesp wrote that all puzzles but one could be SOLVED. This is not the case; he wrote that they could be SOLOED; I.e., solved by one person without the other's help. Thought I'd point that out so that you can fix the problem, but I am only semi-skim-reading so I may have missed something in your post that suggests that you recognised this. If so, sorry; just thought you should know.

Indeed, let me rephrase this:

1) When we played the map, the last door to the exit was not opening after pushing no button (don't know why it happened for us and not for you).

2) The only puzzle which requires 2 people to complete is the one where you have to go into an infinite fling (to reach the buttons which operate the gel).

I can tell your a new mapper so I won't be harsh, but you need to put more work into your maps. You need to learn how to use overlays and indicators, you need to make a hole for the funnel, you can't be lazy when you are making the map. Whenever you catch yourself saying "that's good enough" that's what people are not going to like. You placed separate brushes on top of other brushes, so that you wouldn't have to edit the whole wall or floor. Reminds me of my first map a bit. When you are playing other peoples maps, notice the details they do to their maps, they don't just use one texture for an entire wall and such. Just keep playing with hammer, and don't cut corners. If you want to add something to your map that you don't know how to do, find a tutorial or a forum that teaches you or play with hammer until you figure it out, and don't just skip over it because you don't know how to do it. I speak out of personal experience and that is my advice to you.

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.

Just so you know, you have not finished it in your video.

I Finished this map with a buddy of mine and we never even saw a light bridge, I got past the lazer/disintegration wall by crouching and portaling the surface behind it

So, new Version is out

It solved some Problems:
- The "Portal-shows-wall-bug"
- You cant shoot over or under the emanzipation-Grid at the End anymore.

and it has new things:

  • GLaDOS-Voice
  • Level-Sign (To see it, you must put the ".bik"-File into: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\media folder)
