Map loading screen freezes

Hi,
sorry if this has been answered before but I couldn't find such a topic.
When I want to load my map, it just stops loading it ingame after a little more than half of the loading bar is done and I have to close the game via ctrl-alt-del.
Any advice?

CPU power surely, yes. I have only ~20 % left of free RAM when i run hammer, portal 2 and firefox (and a few smaller programs) but that should still be sufficient I guess?

Hmm, didn't work out.
Often I can load the maps but sometimes there is the said problem..

Try shortening the name of your map. For some reason Portal 2 hates long map names, and it stops maps from loading if the filename is over a certain number of characters (no one's sure yet what that number is though).
