Any word on VPK functinality being restored?

Can't seem to find if valve has made a statement about the VPK / addons folder problem.
Has anybody emailed gabe or anything like that?

Maybe valve will release a second dlc that fixes the bugs, in 2013

So am I right in thinking VPK's dont work at the moment, and there is no workaround?

I just thought I would start with VPK's because I need to link maps together and having loading screens and such....

Couldnt get it to work, so I went back to basic's and tried one I knew worked before, Omnicoders 'Retrospective'.

However, no matter where I put it, I just cant get the console to able to start it...

I know I've had it working at one point, cause I've actually played it

I'd also very much like the VPK to be restored. I could use it very well for my work. But has anybody actually written an email? I guess the developers won't do anything if they don't know about the issue and I doubt they use VPKs for their own work.

So that means "Noone did write an email, but everyone complains, why things aren't changing.". I will now join the P2mapper email list and write an email about the VPK and the cubemaps there. But what do you mean with gabe's email address? Should I rather send the email to him? If so, please give me his email address. Thank you.
