Dear Subjects Reading This Message,

I'm currently new to 'ThinkingWithPortals', so with my seer laziness and my "amazing spelling abilities", I would like to ask for some assitance towards my second map. That is, if anyone is willing help... I would love if someone could make me a sideways crusher that just keeps smashing and never stops, by that I mean that it takes no trigger to activate the darn thing. And if you were to make this, make it an instance for me. So I could grab it and use it without the hassle of seeping through the thing and changing crap. To be honest, I'm alright at srcipts, but this isn't scripts, this is muttiny. So once again, if you could do this for me, I'll be glad to mention your name after the map is done, that is if you want it in reqards to the map sucking to bad that you don't want your amazing name to be tarnished. :smile:

There's this instance you can download straight away, when using it you'd have to trigger it with a logic_timer.
But where's the fun in having someone do all the work for you? You ought to learn doing things by yourself. Check out the VDC if you want to be a good mapper.

I'm not looking for fun in how to make it from sratch, I learn better from taking apart something then building it. That is just how some people are... I tried that instance, but I don't know how to use it it, it mentions a Reset timer, I don't know how to add it in or let alone what to do with it if I find it. So if you reread this, could you give me some help with this, that would be most appreciated.

I'm not expecting everyone to do everything for me, I asked if they could help, one thing I asked for and your assuming that I am incapable of doing anything... I don't like to be rude but please don't assume things. Thank you for the semi-help.

Secondly Master, I would love to get my hands on your crushers like a little fat boy wants to get his hands on a candy bar but, there is no file that I am able to grab to bring it into hammer and use :razz: Unless there is and I'm am blind but... idk :biggrin:

I thought Hammer could read .bsp files. I'll try sending a different file like a vmf or something.
Edit: I sent you a PM of the map with the crushers in it as a vmf file. The map itself may be an updated version of the map that I may not have released. Either way, the crushers are still there.

[To Spongy]: I'm not going to take someones map at will and break it down so I can steal stuff from it, what you are offering there is pointless. I know this is well looked down upon in the gaming community. I will not take a persons full map and use it for my own. Thanks for the offer tho...

[To MasterLagger]: Thank you very much Master, I will be sure to open this as soon as I have the chance. Hopefully this will solve my problem with making crushers in the future. :smile:

Thank you again MasterLagger, the VMF file came through perfectly, I'll be sure to thank you once again when I'm done with my second map, you've been a great help. I know it sounds like I am probably asking a lot but by any chance do you know how to make one of those 'sucky up tube thingys' [Great name, I know]. I ask this because instead of my last map where I had you fall forever, I would like to make this a new way to advance to the next level. I hate the portal doors, they are just to simple and I hate simple. If you don't know that is fine, I'll just make the transistion a longer fall. 'joke' :razz:

Yeah, I haven't made one of those Diversity Vents before. I would go with beecake's advice on that one.

Thank you :smile: it would be Strange to make an instance with diversity vents since the tubes are going to be different from level to level. There is a tutorial on the wiki. You Can check that one out too. That was the one helping me.

the diversity vents can be very hard to get working without bugs though, especiallly when you put corners in them.
