portal 2 style map for portal 1
Portal 2 should run on a 2004 game machine, the minimum specs are a Pentium 4 3GHz and a Radeon X800. You could try updating your video drivers or if your PC is that old just get a new one. The source engine is very friendly to old PCs compared to what most games use.

my problems more like it finishes the map load but then the graphics display crashes 3 or 4 times then it goes to blue screen but ill do the update and try your idea
Just delete it whenever you want to play. However, your video settings will have reverted to the defaults, so you'll have to change them back to probably lower settings.
