Help with a texture.

Hello everyone;

You might have seen my map Lp's Lazr0s before. Since v1.2 there is a so called death-fizzler in the level; a combined laserfield and fizzler. To make it more clear to people that the death-fizzler was in fact deadly I added an overlay to the wall: signage/signage_danger_field.

I then asked a friend to play it and I observed it and I saw he was really confused by the fact the signage stayed on death field even though the field became a normal fizzler. So I decided to make a func_brush; disable it as soon as the death-field was turned into a normal fizzler. However when I make a func_brush with signage/signage_danger_field I only get a transparent texture; and fitting it won't work either.

So my question is: could anyone make me a signage_danger_field texture that is "normal"; a version I could use as a brush? That would be very helpful!
And maybe someone can create a texture for a fizzler? So I can change the death field texture to a fizzler texure? Maybe a fizzler-like plane with a person half through it and a thing with a portal shape with a cross through it; just like there is a skull now? I don't know; use your imagination!

Thanks a lot!
~Lp

tl;dr signage_danger_field image as brush and fizzler texture please.

Have you tried using the "signage_danger_field" as an overlay instead of a brush texture?

Although, this isn't exactly what you may be looking for, I suggest this:
There is a button signage somewhere in textures(or an image of whatever changes the laser to a fizzler), put it next to the "signage_danger_field" (right side). Then, add another "signage_danger_field" next to the button (or whatever it is) signage with a think black brush in the shape of an "X" in front of it to indicate that the laser goes away after triggering the button (or whatever).
Did that make any sense? :lol:

Yes; but I couldn't disable it :wink: so that is my problem :wink:

I think I could add a doorstate to indicate whether it's open or not, but I don't think that's an elegant solution I'd prefer the brush solution :wink:

Uou could also try making a toggleable texture, like the indicator lights are, then using that as an overlay.

Sorry Lp, I didn't read this thread before! I can do that if you are still interested... Just let me know, it's very easy, ok?
