I put in potatOS GLaDOS as an easter egg in my map. But when i play the map, she is NOT where i placed her... or anywhere for that matter.

I thought prop_dynamic was the way to go but that doesnt seem to work

Try a prop_static or prop_physics. Some models don't work as certain prop types. If you already checked in the model viewer to see if the PotatOS model works as a dynamic prop, I have encountered a few models that don't work as one prop type even though the model viewer says it should.

managed to get it to appear as a prop_dynamic_overide. That seemed to work.

By default some models are static dynamic or physics. Static is the cheapest, then dynamic, then physics.
So before you use your model think:
1) should it move?
yes -> dynamic
no -> 2
2) Do I need to do anything with it?
yes -> physics
no -> static.

now go to the model browser, select your model and check the Info tab. Does it have your choice available? yes -> use it.

If it can't be a static and you want it to be static dynamic will be fine.
If it can't be static nor dynamic physics will be fine

In other cases it might be useful to use the overwrites, but they're the most expensive kind! be careful with them; always check info first and use the cheapest option.

i changed it to static and i got an error from the compiling saying it was invalid and was deleted...

i have no idea why that happened. It said in the info that it can be phys or static

You're not doing anything wrong there, the info tab on the model viewer is doing something wrong. In that case, you may want to just leave it as a dynamic_override or a constrained prop_physics.
