Nope, can't. Lost in that maze.
I've tested it through to make sure it's solvable =) if you're still stuck, maybe I can give a hint ?
I have a cube.. but can't swim!
I would suggest prayer..
Maybe you should look at a cube, not a square, or some other higher power
When you listen closely.. The cube appears to be singing..
"We been broken down
the lowest turn
and been on the bottom line
sure ain't no fun" .. maybe Google knows the song?
Check the ceiling.. all of it.
I've put the cube on.. but can't figure out whats next..
You'll need some rope.
Ah.. no rope in portal 2.. what would you use instead..
I Fell through a laser grid!
Dangerous those, if only there was a way to turn them off.
Maybe something you've used already?
I've found the sphere dropper.. but I can't make it work..
You should explore more
You should also remember how you got the cube across the water
The button you seek is in the attic
I've got a sphere, but I can't work out how to get to the sphere holder..
Maybe a snorkel..
You need to go think about "I have a cube.. but can't swim!" except think deeper .
After some inspiration, take a short jog, and relax, get your breathing right to time your landing.
I managed to get the cube, but I don't see how to continue from there. I can see a hole above the light bridge but have no clue how to get there.
Edit: Oh, I see. The gamers-don't-look-up problem. Thanks for the hint.
In my opinion, it's too hard to find the areas you need to progress. Also, after you have found the cube, you can walk many of the paths you need after having the sphere before you found the button for its dropper. This resulted in endless walking for me.
I'd never have found the way to the sphere button. Instead, I noclipped to the button to see where the entrance would be. Some people here might praise you for that idea, I didn't like it. Also, it would be great if the sphere dropper would auto-drop the following spheres. Else you have to make it all the way there again if you make a silly mistake.
Finally, I didn't even realize what the sphere receiver changed. But that's probably due to the silly auto-indicators. It would be nicer if there was a symbol next to the sphere receiver and one next to that laser grid.
Edit: Maybe a Hammer mapper could comment on this, but I think with some tweaks this might work better than with the standard PTI equipment.
Yes, it would be great if the breadcrumb lights between switch & target were better manageable in the PTI editor.. it seems to delight in hiding them, or losing them.. and offers no decals to apply to walls to offer arrows, hints, or numbers..
In a way, not finding the entrance to the sphere room means I achieved my objective of making it tricky to find.. but I might need to tweak things to make it actually discoverable.. I was hoping that after the initial parts of the map with the cube, that people would be thinking in the right direction.. I made the button visible after the chain of lifts to at least give information as to which direction to head in..
I could try adding a couple of alternate routes to the sphere dropper button.. got a few ideas if the editor will let me.. the item limit is a pain to work with. And changing the dropper to auto redrop on a lost sphere will be simple enough.
If I had more items.. I could perhaps gate off the section you'd take to get to the sphere, and unlock it with something that also drops the sphere.. that will be tough within the constraints at the mo.
