Wheatley Monitor

Posted Jun 07, 2012
I'm using Wheatley's monitor instance, and can't get it to work!

The monitor is working fine, but the nodraw stuff around it screws up all my walls!

What is the proper usage of this instance? How is it supposed to be placed?

I usually use the clipping tool to cut the wall, as to make room for the monitor. Is this working for you?

That should work, but if that is not the problem, you should post some screenshots.

The "box" with the monitor in it fits nicely into the wall, but there's a nodraw "cushion" around it which z-fights with or covers up my walls. I'll post some screenshots.

The bottom of the box also zfights with the wall behind it when it moves downwards.

Felix, that instance is intended to be embedded on the wall. If you are going to use it outcoming from the wall, then why don't you just edit the instance and change those nodraw textures? You could then save it using a different name than it has now.

its the tf2 core! look at the eye!

anyways, if you were making it stick out, take out the nodraw and replace it with panels. it will look better.

Fixed. I needed to call deploy_straight for it to fit my geometry, and push it back in more.

Thanks for the responses!
