Hi all,

i am having difficulties, my model viewer in the portal 2 authoring tools will not open what so ever, all i get is the same message everytime i try and open it, this is stopping me from using better animations in my maps, so if anyone can help me i would really really appreciate it

basically it keeps saying hlmv.exe failed to load, and i tried loads of fixes i saw on the internet i searched and searched and there just is not a fix i can find anywhere, i tried uninstalling authoring tools and reinstalling and i even downloaded the sourcesdk too, and that still didnt work, nothing has worked, i even copied the gameinfo.txt file to the correct directory, and some other files i copied too and still wouldnt work,

so if anyone can help please reply

Even you installed and reinstalled, try to verify the integrity of the cache of your local files in the case that maybe your installations are failing each time by any reasons...

You can view animations of models inside the hammer editor by clicking the model tab in the object's properties and choosing an animation from the drop down menu.

Only dynamic models can play animations.

yes i did check the integrity of the files via steam too, and it was all ok, i did that about 5 times lol

ok yes i found that chickenmobile, but i really need to use the model viewer, that model view via the properties tab is very limited , i need the full model viewer. if anyone can come up with any other ideas that might make it work, i would really appreciate it

can anyone please help, i really need to use model viewer and it still wont work for me, i really really need to use it, i do not get all the full names of all the animations when i want to use a world model, so basically i can not use any of the world model animations without model viewer because i do not know the full names of all the animations for each different item in the world model browser

im really stuck and anymore help would be greatly appreciated

im windows 7 premium 64bit, i hope this isnt the cause for it

OK OK OK, i fixed it i fixed it im shocked i got it to work, i copied the gameinfo.txt file to the portal2 dlc2 folder, then all of a sudden no more error message it worked, i didnt copy that file into that folder yesterday, i copied it to all the others apart from that one lmao, o well at least it works now finally
