Try to validate your game again. Steam's servers were going crazy last night, so that might be why it didn't work.
I think i have a bad connection with steam this time...
Please Anyone? Steam Is Running Slow -_-
How did you manage to install only PART of Portal 2? Just use an un secured internet connection somewhere (I'm assuming its a laptop, just because I have a laptop. Which, in reality, isn't a very good reason to assume you have a laptop, but I'm going ahead and assuming it anyway) and use up their download limit. Or, get a flash drive, and if you have a friend who has Portal 2, copy the map folder and put everything where it belongs. If you don't have a friend with Portal 2, go to a library, DL steam, and DL Portal 2 there (assuming the internet is fast enough), and flash drive the map folder. If someone uploaded the maps here, it wouldn't do you any good that validating the game cache wouldn't, since it would be the exact same download, of the exact same size.

That actually made some sense. Congratulations.
