Heya there,

I am coming back to the mapping scene after a long break due to university, and I have a couple of things that I want to find out...

1) How would one prepare a map made entirely in Hammer for uploading to the workshop? Is there any entities etc I need to add before doing so?

2) Same thing as above, but for PTI

Any help would be much appreciated.

  1. pti needs the global_ents_pti instance somewhere in the map, with a trigger to the relay inside at the point where you want to go to the voting menu.

from the pti it's just a matter of hitting "publish"

This should help set your Hammer map up for the workshop.

You can't make your hammer maps to be loaded by the PTI. The PTI has defined and closed entities that it recognizes and uses; hammer allows you a much wider range of entities and I/O connections the PTI would not ever be able to manage.
