facepalm

Transmit to Client does fancy black magic based around "server-side" and "client-side" entities. You need it, for example, to make the info_target a CP for an info_particle_system. I'm not going to try to explain this now, ask me somewhere else if you need to know.

It doesn't just put it where the player is.

I would recommend just using ambient_generics or env_soundscapes in the actual map. Make the skywalls thick and put the entity inside them if you have to, or use a nodraw-box.

I can agree with you how the quality of the audio would be better with ambient generic, you are right to say that.....

but the entity inquestion is an active turret.... a 700 foot tall turret

So unless i can magically create outputs like Onfiring or Onsearching that can trigger Ambience that correlate with its functions, I am at a loss here

EDIT: and yes i have bunch of entities and triggers that allow it to damage the player from the skybox.

Hm. I'd recommend making a second turret, which is Out of Ammo so it doesn't actually fire, rendermode 10 and fixed in place, and putting it near the skywall in the same spot. It'll see the player and say stuff, but not fire.

But that actually does seem like a good time to use an info_microphone, if you don't know when the sound will be emitted. Just keep the info_target inside the skywall, and DON'T use the transmit-to-client flag.

 i liked those tutorials that were posted, skyboxes aren't something I do often and those were nice refreshers.

I've got to say though Fracture, this was no way to behave, even online. 99% of your posts were yelling at people who were trying to help. You didn't give enough information on your problem, then just yelled at everyone for not being able to fix your problem instantly.
I frankly don't care if you have anger issues, you need to learn to control your rage.
Also you need to remember that everything you post online is going to be around forever, and that may come back to bite you.

This is a fun community, full of lots of nice helpful people, and you should treat them with more respect.

dude, i said i was sorry. drop it already.

I should also point out that swearing doesn't immediately mean i am yelling. i mean you can't hear text.

And unfortunately i grew up with a very verbal family, swearing is almost like a second language to us.

I will try better next time.

But please stop perpetuating this arguement. I'ts getting OLD already.
