Looking to collaborate with an environment artist or level designer to create an awesome looking (and feeling) map! There will not be any puzzles to solve, but more of a linear story to tell. Are you good with lighting and creating eerie spaces? Have you previously created a map with custom assets?

I'm a sound designer and hoping to lend my skills to create a distinct soundscape. Check out some of my work.

Without divulging too much info, there will be a couple of really talented folks on this project. Let me know if you're interested and I can provide you with some deets!

best,

Portal 2 is just the sdk I chose, but think of it like an audio museum. A way to present the possibilities of using sound within a map, outside of a music track!

A companion that talks to you.

Yeah, dialogue can help breathe some life and some detailed vfx can help set the tone! Oh and is anyone here really good with lighting and fog? Hoping to polish up some of the visual side to it

A companion that talks to you.

The companion cube will never threaten to stab you, and in fact can not speak

The weighted companion cube DOES speak.

I'm not hallucinating. You are.
The companion cube would never desert me.

That sticking injured test subject into companion cube is pretty scary, to be honest.

But why would they? It's more work to put someone into a cube than to incinerate them. The cubes are fireproof, as shown in P2's ending.

perhaps, they sent bots to the tests where people died, and just had them shove the subjects into the cubes, and put them back into the pneumatic vents. when the cubes go in the fire, yes they are fireproof, but they aren't heat proof, the body would catch on fire and burn away eventually
