step 3: rightclick on the adjecent texture.

i was using clip, fyi. I had yet to make it a displacement.

Apparently the orientation of the clipped lines DOES matter AND you have to displace all surfaces simaltaneously
If you haven't done so, make sure that your displacements are all the same width and height as each other so then you can utilize the "sew" command in the displacement dialogue.
Perhaps I can create a comic about this too if it becomes too difficult.

Unaligned textures, non-sewing of the displacements? Different sized displacements?
I have no problem with displacements.. but I don't really use them much. I guess a comic must take you much time, even though you surely like to have an excuse to make a good drawing
