[SP] PFG - The Portal Force Gun
Posted Mar 07, 2013
This is my first Hammer-only map. It introduces a new portalgun. Portals shot with this gun emit force as is examplified in a brief tutorial part in the beginning of this map. Please feel free to leave some feedback on the map page in my workshop. Thanks!

That was certainly something different, but I'm ambivalent about whether that's in a good way or a bad way. After the tutorial section, I thought the difficulty ramped up too quickly. Precise angle shots when you are on a timer isn't really conducive to learning a new mechanic and it got frustrating for me pretty quickly. But I'm not the fastest or most precise player in the world, so it may just be me. Your way of solving the final room looks a lot easier than the way I did it (blue portal only). I liked the novelty of the mechanic and I thought the rooms were nicely designed and the puzzles were certainly challenging, but, man, you ask a lot from (this) player.

Heh, I'm with Roger on the difficulty ramp here. It was a really cool mechanic, and great fun to play with though, cheers

Interesting use of the Portal Gun - reminded me very much of another physics game Twin Sector (push pull gloves on the heroine).
Yeah this was hard, thanks for the video! The obvious way to go would not work, so one had to find the alternate jump which you provided - did tend to get frustrating trying to get the obvious jumps to work. As others said, maybe another chamber of learning/training intro - the up jump and sideways jumps?
Still I enjoyed it very much, now that I know how - I hope to see more. Has to be a 5/5....
