So, I have a small mod I've been working on, and I have a Windows XP that I have been making the mod on. (No hate for the XP please, it works great for most things.) So, I sent the mod to one of my friends to beta test the coop function, to see if leaving in base game coop would work, and he could not get past the loading screen. I tried it with two others, and the same thing happened. All of these friends have a 64 bit Windows 7, so I'm wondering what would be the problem.

Heres a link to a download if you need the files, sorry its so big. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pb6gbqt816gzo ... ambers.zip

very interesting that coop works in windows xp for a mod

But yeah; windows vista 7 and 8 have refused doing coop in mods since... erm? forever?

Ben, do you mean 'mod' or 'map'?

I just deleted the bin directory and copy mine: profit

There are some missing textures though btw:

Oh wow it was that easy!? :notwant: thank you though. And I wasn't necessarily saying that coop did work, I was just attempting to try it, but no one could seem to start it to try it.

Man, that texture really does not seem to like me. I'm pretty sure I included the files, and I can see the texture under the missing texture. Would this be something with something other than the main vtf and vmt?

it looks like a shader or cubemap; open up the vmt to see if there are other materials that are being referred to.

Well, that texture on the floor and some walls seems to have a bump-map or normal-map that is missing, as Lp mentioned, look into the .VMT to know what it is. The glass you used for the platform is simply not there. And the texture you used for the stairs is not included either. Check them out

Used the bin method, and I had a friend test it, she took some screenshots as well. (The coop didn't work, as expected) The character's hand model on the gravity gun also appeared pink tinted in bright lighting, I'm assuming because of shaders. I know I put in all the textures for both the player and the floor, I just checked before posting this reply. If this is useful, I have already built cubemaps in the chamber, but these persist throughout the maps. Any thoughts on this?

EDIT: Saw the new post before mine, yes, I'll be putting those textures in as well.
EDIT2: Wait, how did http://jobs.wibidata.com/puzzles/portal/ WibiData manage to get a coop campaign? is it because they copied over the whole game?
EDIT3: Nevermind, they stuck a custom launcher in the existing game to make it work.

Yes I wrote that custom launcher to fake a DLC which converts Portal 2 into wibi for the moment they are playing, then converts it back to portal 2 when it closes

 Nice workaround!

Still, if anyone can offer more insight on this it would be helpful.
