box_dropper apparently is non-existent.

Simple, I want to make a cube dropper.
1. func_instance
2. Set the name as box_dropper
3. Choose the cube_dropper_normal.vmf or whatever file it's called as skin.
4. Save and reload.
5. It's still a tiny pink box.

What am I doing wrong?
Also, the box_dropper name is red as opposed to other videos I have seen where it is blue when they type it in.

You'll need to actually browse to the instance instead of typing it in, then you should be good.

Not quite sure what you mean by that. The only things I manually typed in were "func_instance" and "box_dropper".

Have you saved the map first or clicked apply to the entity? Instances will not appear unless the map is saved.

As I said in my first post, I entered all that information, clicked apply, saved the map, exited, then reloaded. It was still a tiny pink box.

What is the full path of the instance you are typing in?, seems to me it doesn't actually exist.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Portal 2\sdk_content\maps\instances\gameplay
I then chose cube_dropper_normal.vmf then clicked apply.

Where did you save your map? In sdk_content, or somewhere else?

Somewhere else, as I do with all my maps, none of which contain a cube dropper lol.
I JUST SAVED IT IN SDK_CONTENT AND NOW IT APPEARED, YOU'RE A GENIUS. THANK YOU.
