scripted portal exit

I can't seem to find this anywhere, so I do apologize if this has been asked before.

I'm having an issue with my map where simply looking a certain direction alters the exit arc from leaving a portal, which as a result either leads to acid or laser field. How can i make it so when exiting I can have the player travel a specific arc, similar to a faith plate.

You can set up a trigger_catapult over where they'll be flinging out of, with an info_target where you'd like them to land - exactly like a faith plate but without the model/sound.

Set "use threshold check" to yes to make the catapult only activate if the player is travelling close to the correct speed, so simply walking through the portal won't throw the player.

Oh, yeah, forgot about that
Whatever you do, though, don't make it increase/decrease your speed by too much. Make sure it looks as natural as possible, and if possible, put the trigger_catapult right in front of the portal, so the launching is done during the transition between portals.

Thanks guys, that really helped, now I'm having another issue.

I can't seem to tell what speed I'm exiting the portal at, is there a console command that can display this info for me, or is it just trial and error? Also, when I have the threshold off to test the actual arc, it sends me in a more upwards direction despite the info_target being in a lower position (I do have it properly assigned under launch target), and the point direction button doesn't change the coordinates for launch direction. Will I have to adjust those number manually, or am I looking at the wrong properties?

EDIT: I also want to point out that the exit portal is on an angled panel.

There's a console command that let's you view the player's location and speed, but I forgot what it is. Check what the speed is when the player falls or let someone tell you.
