Portalboat, you're a noob. Learn to live with it. More experienced people will always piss you off. But the autoportal frame is a model. In that screenshot, not the shake entity, but the frame model is encirculated. The portal within it is a prop_portal with a few I/O's. Next time please take a close look at the example map.

Everyone else, he's a noob. Of course he will do things that may seem stupid to you. And indeed, he should have searched first. But weren't we all noobs once? And don't we all, somewhere deep within, rather post a question here then waste 5 minutes searching the internet? You know I'm right. You just won't admit because you know it's not appropiate to do such things, and because of that you don't do them (anymore). But etiquette on the internet is slightly different than in real life, especially since things are different in cyberspace, with all the wikis and tutorial-databases that pop up every minute. This even differs from community to community, and everyone has to learn such things. Though I must admit that we've explained it to Portalboat multiple times.

I think it's worth pointing out that this thread came after a week of posting individual threads for simple questions and a 24-hour ban in recognition of this.

I made some newb questions at start too, but now I know when I need some basics, I look up at the links the guys here sended trough.

For more advanced stuff, I mostly post here, as searching for advanced stuff takes (mostly) longer then posting it here.

For instance, I needed the 'Forcefield allowing players trough but nothing else.'
If I went searching for that in a search machine, I won't get anything useful. Here however, I got fast and good answer without bothering the people here too much.

So do post your questions here, but for the basic Hammer things along with a few basic Portal things, please take the effort of looking it up on your own and just use Google

I want to search for "Making an autoportal frame"

It searches for "|Making| |an| |autoportal| |frame|" and not the whole phrase.

Add quotes to your search, like:

Portal mapping "autoportal frame"
Portal mapping "autoportal frame" make
Portal mapping "autoportal frame" create
Portal mapping "autoportal frame" tutorial

Those 4 ketword groups are those which I would use for that kind of search, and I would try each of them.

Or just go to interlopers.com. Or any hammer help site really. There's probably a lot of links on interlopers (and here, if you read the bloody stickies) that point to a bazillion hammer help sites. I'm sure at least one of them will have what you're looking for.

Or quit bitching because you have to make more than 1 search, or you have to look at more than 1 article, or you have to do some research that takes more than 5 seconds.

Or alternatively, as you have been told several times before, just look in the example map to see how to do it!
