You gave me an idea for a sig animation combining Mario Kart Red Shells and portals. But I need an animation program to do that...
Anyway, the ASHF idea is kinda cool, but done before. Besides, it seems more like Half-Life than Portal. If you could see your destionation, you could just forget about the ship and just portal there. Although, with a little reworking, it could work. That thing resembles a Puddle Jumper, lol.

but back on topic. yeah you did a good job and all. i think its a neat idea, just don't see much application for such a thing. and i'm sure it would be hard to implement effectively. If SOMEHOW you pull it off, then good job. if not. well atleast you learned alot while working on it.
