.bsp files

how do you exract .bsp files to play them? Because in the readme for a map for portal it says to exract the bsp to the portal folder, and I don't know how to do that

It means take the .bsp file out of the .zip archive (using Windows or WinZip) and place the .bsp file in your Portal directory.

Schools really need to make their basic computer classes mandatory.

How about English classes?

Aside that though, just grab the bsp, and put it in your Portal/maps Folder. Also I remember my school having Computer classes.

Sadly it was about, how to use Microsoft Word, cause no one could figure it out! I wanted to slap that teacher so bad for wasting my time.

We only had typing classes at our school, cos everyone has their own laptop and is smart enough to use it. The only computer illiterate people at my school is a certain english teacher and the IT support staff.

Mrs Foote is the computer illiterate english teacher. She can't even use a DVD player.
