Difficulty: Medium/Hard
Theme: Destruction
Estimated Playtime: 60 minutes

Hello all heavily modified calculator cores, how have you been? I've been reeeally busy with this map, which once again brings destruction-themed testing together with coop for a beautifully mind-bothering experience. Today's course is three chambers long and will truly put your excellent partnership to the test. And even though your performance will be judged using sience-collaboration points, keep in mind that all great sience is always the result of collaboration. To reiterate, this is not a competition.

Screenshots

Also keep in mind that these puzzles aren't designed to need any extreme moves, they rather rely on you to really work together. The chambers are logical, easy to understand and seem simple but are they really? You tell me!;)

After you've played this it would be nice if you could take some time to throw me a vote or even a comment, giving me some feedback on the map. It's really nice to know what you guys thought were nice and not nice cause after all I make this for you and I wanna make the most out of it! If you hesitate to register here on TWP I've created a page for the map over at the workshop so it's possible to put some feedback there using your steam login!:)

I wish you the best of luck and I hope you enjoy!

Keep testing

Warning! Contains Playthrough! For stuck or done participants only!

A beautiful map, with plenty of puzzles to keep you thinking. I almost can't believe you got it all made in the contest time! The puzzles are hard - sure - but you can get through them with logic and a touch of inspiration. You kept me and LP were captivated throughout and we both thoroughly enjoyed the map. Congratulations, and thanks for mapping!

EDIT: now that I've remembered, there were a couple of bugs and mapping details I thought I should mention. Both me and LP experienced the cube flying out of our hands as we pointed it into a portal on the angle panel in the light bridge puzzle. Speaking of the light bridge, a placement helper might have been useful, so we could catch it at the right angle from afar. (Or was that part of the puzzle?)

Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you liked it and now I know my mapthread is actually working There are no catapult nor anything special in that map, I'll check it but I think it might be beyond my control to fix. As for the placement-helper I checked it out and it's there but it works badly when the lightbridge is on, doesn't work at all from certain angles but works flawless when the lightbridge is off so that's really wierd. No clue really but I know it happened to me before when having lightbridges and placement-helpers, it certainly isn't meant to be happening.

I got a little bit sad I didn't get one of those fancy comments you have done earlier but I guess it must be really tiring to write those, although they're highly informative and appreciated!^^ Thought you would find more things to mention but I see it as you didn't feel like you needed to.

Thank you both once again for solving science!

I might get time to write up a fancy comment today! Did you turn off the light bridge's automatic placement helper? Perhaps It was fighting with a custom one.

No I hadn't turned it off, didn't know it was on by default. Should fix that whenever possible

Iviv and LyLy here, and we played Tests of Cleverness. Dang these were hard for us! XD but then, we've not played a complicated test is quite some time. We admit, we had some very unintended solutions here, especially the last puzzle. Everything looked very nice, we love the design work on it. The puzzles were phenomenal! Very good work on this one.

Hello guys and thank you so much for your blindrun, it was great to watch and you're awesome to complete this! Well you did some stuff in ways I hadn't in mind but hey your solution for the first puzzle was awesome and so was the solution for the second part! I ain't gonna do nothing to prevent those. The solution for the last part however I'm not really fond of, it's a pretty glitchy way of doing it and I'm going to fix that later.

Furthermore, the door in the observation-room makes the "locked" sound, turrets haven't ever been able to press cubes, the glowing from the bot-droppers aren't leaks they're lights and I think it's freaking hilarious that orange received almost all of the sience-collaboration-points. I hand those out to the person that's assisting on the puzzle but isn't actually doing anything right then. ^^

You played the map pretty much like I wanted it to be played and I really enjoyed watching these videos.

Thank you and stay tuned for more maps to come!

XD Ah-hah! I knew they were lights! I think it was a confusion because we couldn't see lights on the one against the wall. Any clue why changing gestures didn't work? I've been able to switch in maps before.

I always knew the turrets don't push button, but it was a random conversation between us. They happen often! Little companion turret tried so hard, though!

We're really good at solving tests in glitchy or unintended ways, apparently. At least this time I realized it was wrong. We took longer then we care to admit on the last test, and by that moment we were just trying anything at that moment. We'll try the right way again some time soon.

Haha so now I feek like doing a companion turret map for some reason xD no idea why using those the gestures didn't work, never heard of the problem before but then again I don't use custom gestures myself^^

You had a good thing going on that last test and you where pretty close to figuring it out
Again thanks for playing and remember, any solution is an intended solution! Except the glitchy ones they can all rot in hell...

My feedback
Do not read if you are judge!

||This was a very clever, polished and fun map. It got both of us REALLY thinking (as in brain mushing thinking). This I would say was a medium-hard difficulty. It didn't require any ninja or frustrating manoeuvres. The ambience was great, GLaDOS lines and "collaboration points" awarding made me smile plus everything was absolutely beautifully made in the destroyed theme.

I hope other people have much fun as we did playing it. Well done Jepp.||

My response,
Do not read if you are a judge!

Good work solving science! I thought you would've enjoyed this more than my previous map, since it's more brainy, requires less accurate moves and is much easier to grasp. I've gotten better at puzzlemaking and I hope to keep entertaining you guys with these types of chambers! Thank you
I like the idea of having a limited amount of stuff going in each chamber because I think the problem with many community made maps is that you got huge chambers with so much stuff going on you don't know where to begin at, I personally find that irritating.

This level is a real gem! me and my partner in Science had some good fun with the puzzles, excellent difficulty level. We encountered two minor bugs, one is I think out of your control - the laser receiver on the wall in eehhr, the third part I think, did not work in the first few instances we fired the laser beam into it. It took some re-portaling to finally get it to fire. The other issue was with the cube and the laser grid (level 4?)... we made a mistake and got the cube stuck below the laser grid, no sweat, we wanted to destroy the cube by hitting the button again, but it would not let us press the button... we had to restart the level.

But really, I have yet to see anyone match the skill that goes into making such good quality multi-player portal levels, cudo's - we really enjoyed it!

I'd give it a score of 4.92

Right, I moved that fizzler up so you could see it better but now I remember why it needed to be down there... oh, well easy fix Considering the laser-catcher problem I have no clue really, if you shoot the laser in too much of an angle into it it wont register, but frankly I don't know which test you're talking about.

Anyways thanks for taking your time commenting and I'm happy you enjoyed playing this

Redunzl and I just got finished playing this. Because we like to play our maps blind, we don't read the other players' comments first. I was a judge (albeit not much of one), yet somehow missed this coop map. Too bad, it would have gotten a high rating from me.

The destroyed theme was well executed, frankly a little too well done for a map done in such a short time to be believable, but hey, maybe you're just that good. You even threw in some GlaDOS for us.

The best part of this were the puzzles, because they were truly cooperative. There wasn't much of one player standing around while the other did the work. The puzzles were fairly simple in the end, but it did take us a while to figure a couple out. Best of all, the execution was well within our limited skills and controller handicap.

We give it a solid 5, because we couldn't find even one thing not to like about this map.

Thanks KennKong, I'm happy you took time to comment on it! When I designed these puzzles I tried to have both players being active simultaneously in the solution, it was my goal to get players to really cooperate. Also I map pretty fast in the destroyed theme as I've done a crapload of maps in it, released and non-released. I'm happy about the high rating, it feels less pointless when people seem to have appreciated the time and effort spent.

That's the thing I miss the most, a fair overall rating from people with knowledge of the game. I can honestly say that of all the work on these chambers, 4/5 of the time spent where during the competition time, I rebuilt entire chambers and came of with new from scratch but now I feel like it was all in vain just because I supposed people would use stuff they'd worked on before so why couldn't I. I am so very dissapointed in myself and I completely understand why I got disqualified although it really sucked the joy of mapping out of me, I really put all my free time into this and in the end I hadn't even the spirit left to finish my new map-pack properly.

Hey dude,

I love Portal and want to collect some gameplays (first blind runs; always aren't the fastest and intended solutions, because I take any time to look at the map and its possibilities), speedruns and bug reports.
My records should help you to understand how the player thinks.
Well, I hope I can support you with my uploads to fix any bugs and make new awesome maps.

Here are yours!

THUMBS UP*

opinion & comments: great and tricky map

THX for mapping...

Keep it up!

PS: I began to record our voices, because later i want to make commentarys. Please switch off the sound of the video if it's annoying.

Thanks for the gameplay Blum! Enjoyed it a lot, and you guys completed every puzzle as intended Had some trouble understanding your dutch but from what I could tell it wasn't a complete blindrun for you or? It's always nice to see others solve your map and feel free to play through my other maps^^ Also on a scale, how would you rate the map?
