[Coop] Upstairs Downstairs

Unintended way to solve laser puzzle.
It's not that far off from being an intended solution - I think it'd be permissible.
While expert players might be able to pick this thing apart, we mere mortals were just having fun. We give it 5/5.

I love this way
...it's shown in our gameplay.

That's fine by me - from my point of view it can only improve the map.
As promised: Here we go!!!

Special thanks to PortalCombat for his help and ideas!

Redunzl and I spent 2.5 hours banging our way through this one. Some of the most enjoyable hours we've spent playing together. This map is truly a cooperative map when you solve it the "intended" way. We weren't looking for exploits, and only accidentally found one (a way to portal from room 1 to room 2, which only saved walking time). We must have found four different ways to solve the 1-2-3 puzzle. We had to try that many because our execution is so clumsy we couldn't beat the clock, so we'd try to find a quicker route. While expert players might be able to pick this thing apart, we mere mortals were just having fun. We give it 5/5.
This is the same for my friend and I. We really enjoyed the co-op (upstairs/downstairs) aspect of this map! Thanks! Looking forward to your next one!
To BlumCoLe and PortalCombat: Thanks for this latest video, you managed to find number of ways to peel apart the map! I should have a revision that prevents your crafty techniques uploaded this evening. EDIT: Revision 3 is now uploaded.

To oMavericko and your partner: What do you mean by the 'co-op (upstairs/downstairs) aspect'? The way that the players are forced to be separated?
Only part I thought of as falling short is the final puzzle. In a map that is so open-ended just about every portal surface you shoot the laser through to finish it feels like you're exploiting something. We finished it by redirecting the laser to the 'second puzzle' room(the one with the moving panel and red/blue paint) and then through a portal surface in there.
To be honest I would say: either abandon that part or make it have a clearer way of reaching the goal(that doesn't have to mean giving away the solution).
5/5, congrats on making a map that is varied, has a lot of typical co-op moments and looks fantastic!
Haha why don't you make this the intended solution?
Anyways great map, we solved everything as intended until that last part! Really beautiful map, 5/5!
However, there is at least one unintended solution still left.
Here is our run. It was supposed to be a blind run but my wifi disconnected a minute or two into the 3rd chamber. We had already spent about 15 minutes before this video going from puzzle 1 to 3. After that it is blind.
Puzzle 1: I think we have the intended solution
Puzzle 2: I am sure that we do not have the intended solution.
Puzzle 3: Perhaps we have the intended solution? We did it 1-2-3. We were not sure if one player was supposed to be able to push both #3 buttons, but I was able to.
Puzzle 4: This should be the intended solution.
Sorry for not having remote_view up, I play with it permanently up but I guess that data is not available during demo playback? I couldn't figure out how to view it after the fact with a demo.
Puzzle 1: 100% as intended
Puzzle 2: 100% not as intended!
Puzzle 3: There's many ways to solve this - I think you solved it fine. My intention is only that players cooperate to pull the switches (in any order).
Puzzle 4: I couldn't see how you got the laser from Room 2 to the catcher, but I think you did it as intended. It must have been easier to complete this puzzle, since you skipped part of Room 2. There would have been blue gel on the floor where the second cube lies.
I'll take a look at controlling where you can splosh the blue gel, and also the final puzzle. The first laser redirection seems to be a bit fiddley to get right; I think other testers have raised this issue too.

Me and Wiplive got 29.02 seconds, you need to change this a little bit, seeing as you can skip the whole map basically, nice map though!
I seem to recall putting a clip brush on top of the spawn room. Did you manage to perform that recording in the latest version of the map?
