Here is the past 30 days of downloads. Doesn't look like a decrease to me.

Those threads are very vague and confusing. Also I didn't mention downloads I meant uploads. I am just wondering why spotlights aren't "The best map of the last " and are maps that we have all seen and played 12 months ago. I "assumed" this was because there were no good maps in the last because of the lack of quality uploads on account of the PTI.

Here's where the problem is. You projected your own assumptions of what is going on with the community into the thread when, in reality, as usual, you have no idea what the hell is going on. I don't have time to dig up every thread where the Spotlight changes have been discussed; it's been a major subject around here for a few weeks so it's spread out over a few threads. Check the news board, most of it is probably in there I think.
The fact of the matter is that the Workshop has - as predicted - increased traffic, user registrations, downloads, posting, and just about every single other metric since DLC #2 came out. The spotlight changes just so happen to have gone live shortly after the Workshop went public. The spotlight changes were to remove the need for me to manually update it; now any map that is in the "spotlight" category will have it's day in the limelight even if I go on hiatus.
The two have nothing in common, other than your attempts at dismissing the site as losing traffic.
