Map analyst? How?

Ok so I wan't to shove costum content straight into a .bsp and I've downloaded map analyst. I've got to the stage where it tells me what files are needed and I try to import them but they just don't import. Its really frustrating because I'm a sucker for custom textures and I wan't to send as few files as posible out. (less chance of stuffing things up that way)

any help?

I am just using hammer to embed things, so when I run a map with F9 it compiles, adds, copies and starts the map.

I have his command added in custom compile, before the copy command:
$bspzip -addlist $path\$file.bsp $path\$file.txt $path\$file.bsp

and I have a text file in the mapsrc dir (where vmfs are stored) with a list like this:
materials/damagepy/signage_cubefriendly.vmt
E:\JATEK\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\damagepy\portal\portal\materials\damagepy\signage_cubefriendly.vmt
materials/damagepy/signage_cubefriendly.vtf
E:\JATEK\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\damagepy\portal\portal\materials\damagepy\signage_cubefriendly.vtf
...
rows are paired, first is the destination path in the bsp, second is the source on my hdd.
the .txt has the same filename as the map.
Too bad, my hammer cant save the custom compile settings after exit so I have to add the bspzip command after every hammer start

Real men use command line with bspzip and just keep the .txt file incase you need to quickly re-zip later.

Then that's probably why map analyst doesn't work.

right, so what is this vconfig file, apparently its suposed to be in the sourceskd bin folder, which is isnt, it never has been either. I had a little bit of a hichup the very first time i ran hammer ages and ages ago where it wanted me to run a vconfig.exe but then it misteriously started working even though I didn't do what it wanted.

Well, I have a vconfig folder in my bin folder, but it's empty. And bspzip does work. Try just creating an empty folder in sourcesdk/bin named vconfig.
