But if you replaced the trigger_pushes with trigger_vphysics_motions, you could easily make a Pneumatic Density Vent.
What would that look like in terms of gameplay?
Or how about cubes hitting a faith plate and slamming into the player? (I know, you don't take physics damage in Portal 2, but it could be done other ways)

Spraying the player with sulphuric acid, huh? It is deliciously evil. I like it!
The cubes could be made to damage the player by triggering... a trigger... that is activated only by a cube and the player both being inside it. The trigger would cause the same sort of damage as the laser while being fatal like the toxic goo.
I hate to double post, but I don't want this thread to be pushed down into oblivion.

You don't need to do that, really.
People have been bringing up some great ideas in this thread, so why don't you try implementing a few of them (perhaps in a concept map) and then post an update with some in-game footage of your deadly contraptions? 
People can then give feedback on those and perhaps come up with some more ideas. This will probably work better to keep this discussion going, rather than just intermittently going bump without any other input or sign of progress.
