[map request] co-op map with nice teamwork needed
I really enjoy co-op maps, where both player have to work as a team
with very good timing and a good logic to solve the puzzles.
I hope someone with good mapping skillz can create a map with:
- multiflinging (4 portals)
- jumping from faith plate to faith plate and placing portals in short time
- catching cubes while jumping / flinging
- combinations of faith plates and jumping-gel + portals
- buttons, that have to be used while falling down a wall
(player jumps against a wall, starts falling and needs to hit a button)
- hard-light bridges to redirect the player while in air
special things: (as long as they are possible)
- catching a cube and throwing it into a hole to enable/press a button
(flinging, and throwing while still in air)
- a big map with many faith plates where players have to place the portals for eachother
scripting / music / atmosphere / voice commentary
- a good mapping is not all
- I already saw some maps with good backgroundmusic
- and ofcourse also nice scripting
(GLaDOS commentary to waving, if players die, etc.)
- players need to be forced to act as a team
(maybe let them know it with voice commentary, too)
- special effects like moving walls / lights on/off / earthquakes
in short:
- good timing
- teamwork
- jumps / action
- good enviroment (music, scripting, mapping, etc.)
Thanks in advance. Hope to see great maps!

yeah, really bad idea. Think about it twice, please.
When I create my own map, I would already know how to solve it.
The best part on each map is to find out the solving.
Iam a person, which wants to play maps and figure out how to solve them.
Iam not the kind of person that create maps and then play it just for testing issues.

Have a nice day,

I dont want to play the beta tester for anyone to find out their bugs.
Map creators should check their maps for bugs, and can ask ppl to test the map.
After that, they can release their maps, with hopefully no bugs left.
The point about this thread is to give map creators some ideas for their
next maps and hopefully someone can create the map, just as I suggest it.
I know I wont get a map just for me and my friends, just because I opened
that thread, but I opened it to show my suggestions.
Please, stop talking off topic in this thread and let me post my suggestions.

95% of the suggestions you've made can be found in the official Valve Co-Op maps, which are going to be the gold standard community maps are measured against. You've essentially stated that you'd like to request a map that is 'Good'.
If anyone is building a co-op map that doesn't require 'teamwork', they should probably be shot in the head.
If you'd like to see your specific puzzle ideas implemented, you should either learn to map yourself or put them on a shelf. I don't think anyone who is here to actually map has any shortage of puzzle ideas. That's kind of the reward from learning how to map, you get to see your own ideas implemented.
The purpose of this forum is to discuss specific mapping techniques or problems. If you'd like to discuss puzzle elements in general or ideas for new ways they could interact, the Portal 2 Single Player / Coop forum is probably better suited for that and the What are your favorite puzzle elements while playing? thread in particular would be a good fit.

I need to work for 2 week but after that wil return and start to making coop maps... or.. well, I have no idea, onl max 3-4...
so.. lots flinging, lots faith plate, where u must place portal for your coop (who also flies) and maybe he lands on 2 vertical gel wall where the last bounce also sends him flying by a plate and the total room is just a flying bounce portalflingweeee puzzle?or maybe a moving panel with a faith plate changing angle too?

oh that sounds good...
I think you understand what kind of map Iam looking for.
Would be nice to see these ideas in 1 map with several rooms.
Did I mention it's on the moon?
But PortalCombat, no-one is going to make a map just because you want it to have those things in it. I say you could learn hammer (like previous people have said) and map out your idea for other people to enjoy it. Maybe even attempt to make a map and ask (pay
) a mapper to finish it.

So true...
Here's a stupid idea, lets make a community map pack where everyone make one test chamber, all with it's own personalization from each person... ### Remember it's a stupid idea

lol tbh not that stupid...everyone adds something to the map, and doesn't finish the idea or where it needs to be for, and the next one can go futher on that or makes something for himself, haha exely a great idea lol

Hmm.. Not true. I'm actually looking for someone to come up with level designs for me to practice mapping. As long as there is an understandable diagram with a key, I'm up for it.
But I can't do CO-OP levels as I have no idea how they work. : /

ok, done: [coop] Portal Combat 01 - catapults
Now thats the kind of coop-teamwork I would enjoy on each map.
It took me 2 weeks to create that map... its not that simple to prevent shortcuts, but I finnaly got it.

somebody actually followed through with that.
See? Hammer isn't so difficult.
